Why we only pour in batches of forty
Every batch is a commitment. When we decided to cap production, people said we were leaving money on the table. Here is why we disagree.

AURO was born in a small workshop on the Algarve coast, where the golden light and Atlantic air shaped everything we make. Founded by Ana and Miguel, two former architects who traded blueprints for wax and wicks, AURO began as a quiet experiment in slowing down.
Every candle is made by hand in batches of no more than forty. We source our soy wax from European farms, blend our fragrances from essential oils, and pour each vessel individually, allowing a full 48-hour cure before it leaves our studio. No shortcuts, no synthetics, no compromise.
We believe a candle is more than a product. It is a ritual. A signal to pause, breathe, and return to what matters. That is what AURO means: golden, luminous, present.
Every candle begins with soy wax sourced from certified European farms. We blend each fragrance by hand from essential oils, refining over months until the scent is right.
Poured individually into reusable ceramic vessels, each candle cures for a full 48 hours before a cotton wick is hand-trimmed and set. Labeled with care, packed in recycled cardboard.
Batches of forty. No shortcuts.
"I light Amber Dusk every evening when I get home. It has become the boundary between my workday and my real life. My apartment smells like a place I actually want to be."
"I bought Porto Noir as a gift and then immediately ordered one for myself. The tobacco and plum combination is unlike anything I have found elsewhere. It fills a room without overwhelming it."
"The burn time is extraordinary. Coastal Sage lasted through an entire month of Sunday morning reading sessions. When it was done, I cleaned the vessel and now use it for pencils."
Every batch is a commitment. When we decided to cap production, people said we were leaving money on the table. Here is why we disagree.

Most candle makers cure for 24 hours. We wait twice as long. The difference is subtle, but once you notice it, there is no going back.
